Pregnancy and Postpartum Support For Moms of Color

I provide therapeutic support to enhance the emotional well-being of individuals throughout the transformative phases of pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. From conception to the postpartum period, our emotional landscapes undergo profound shifts as we bring new lives into existence and guide them into the world. Nurturing an awareness of our mental health during each stage of this extraordinary journey can contribute to a sense of peace and internal strength.

Psychotherapy for Pregnant People

Therapy during pregnancy or postpartum is much like traditional therapy with a focus on preparing or processing birth experiences. The mental health of all soon-to-be parents is important and can have a major impact on your birth experience.

Common reasons for expecting parents to seek therapy:

  • Perinatal Depression or Anxiety

  • NICU stays

  • Birth Trauma

  • Postpartum Depression or Anxiety

  • Preparing for birth

  • New parent transitions

  • Relationship challenges

  • Transitioning back to work

My experience

One of my greatest fears has always been giving birth. After having my daughter, I believe that I was given my particular birth journey for a reason. My birthing process was the ultimate test of surrender.

My daughter arrived suddenly, but right on time, 3 months before her due date. At that moment I knew that there was nothing I could’ve done to change her divine entry into the world.

The scariest moment of my life turned me into the fierce mama of the most amazing baby.
