ABOUT ME | Tayyibah Chase Licensed Therapist
The intersections of my identity have led me to several crossroads in life where I wondered if I'd ever be able to bring my whole self into a space. I conformed to any culture I navigated by performing to the best of my ability to fit in. At every juncture, I began to shift parts of myself that I was not ready to accept or feared would be rejected. Meanwhile, I held an internal strength that felt familiar yet foreign. Even if I couldn't find it, my inner creativity was with me every step of the way.
Our inner creative wisdom provides an infinite supply of tools to access inner peace and presence within ourselves. I invite my clients to regain trust in themselves to access their innate creativities, vulnerabilities, and strengths. We become whole again by reclaiming the parts of ourselves that have shifted to protect us. For many of us, creating is an intimate and vulnerable process. It can touch our deepest emotions and most vital sense of self.
In 2021, after years of working in community mental health and group practice settings, I opened Muna Wellness, an online sanctuary for mental and emotional wellbeing. As a licensed psychotherapist, I offer my support as you continue your healing journey. Together, we will harness your creativity, mindfulness, and experiences to unlock and embrace all parts of yourself.

As a young Black girl raised in a Muslim community, I experienced various joys and sorrows in life that now help me understand that the intersections of one's identity are precisely where our strengths lie. My goal is to help others do the same. Through an intersectional feminist lens, I guide and nurture clients to a space where they feel connected to themselves and thus the communities they choose to be a part of.
Muna in Arabic means wish or desire. A common theme I have noticed in my work with myself, and my clients is a desire to show up as a whole, as all parts of ourselves. In my practice, I assist clients in integrating aspects of themselves to feel whole and create a new narrative of who they are.
I am open to working with people of various backgrounds, and my heart centers on and prioritizes the needs of Black, Multiethnic, Latino/a/x, Asian and Pacific Islander, and Indigenous communities. Muna Wellness is a queer, trans, kink, and polyamory-affirming space.
